Daum "Dauminates" First Annual Turkey Classic
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Nov. 24, 2007) -- POWRi series regular Zach Daum arrived in Springfield with the intention of "shaking down" a new car before the 2008 Chili Bowl. Everyone in attendance quickly realized that there were no bugs to be worked out when Zach came from the back of the pack to win his heat race in convincing fashion. Zach then used his front row starting position to lead all twenty laps of the A feature.
Although there was never a contest for the lead the racing for 2ND place definitely raised the temperature for all of the spectators who braved freezing temperatures to see a great show. A yellow flag on lap 2 for the spinning car of Mike Cooper bunched up the field. The restart saw the first red flag in OMMS history when Evan Pardo got upside down in turn 2. When the green flag flew the crowd witnessed a dogfight for the runner up spot between the cycle powered cars of Merril Lamb and Beau Heavelow and the traditional midgets of Kevin Bayer and Jason Dull. After nine laps of hard core racing Lamb slipped from 2ND to to 6Th when he felt that he had a tire going down. Bayer and Heavelow settled into 2ND and 3rd while Merril used the remaining 8 laps to sneak back by Eddie Sauer and Dull to finish in 4Th. After ducking into the pits due to damage sustained on the lap 3 red flag, Barry Lamb put on a passing clinic to charge from the rear to to 6Th with a slightly damaged car.

Another Lamb Annihilates the Field in OMMS Competition
URBANA, Mo. (Sept 15, 2007) -- It was a night of firsts as the Ozark Mountain Midget Series beat the rain to record their fourth event of the 2007 season.
Merril Lamb of Moran, KS captured the first feature win of his open wheel career after taking the lead from brother Barry on lap 5. Merril quickly built a comfortable lead in his Suzuki powered Canaday chassis and never looked back in a feature that went caution free once again. In her first race since coming out of retirement, Jennifer Lamb drove a smooth race to bring home a third place finish. Chris Schofield and Niel Gamble rounded out the top five while a faulty oil pump gave Dustin Arnall his first DNF of the year.
Heat race action saw Mike Cooper's first midget start go from good to bad as a broken fuel pump while running third brought out the first yellow flag in OMMS history on lap 6. When the green came back out Barry Lamb continued his torrid pace to win comfortably.

Lamb Owns OMMS Opener
URBANA, Mo. -- It's happened for over a century. Outlaw brothers ride into a town, clean out the bank, and flee back to Kansas with their money before the local posse is even saddled....
ahh, loaded up. Under the cover of threatening skies that kept many of the local posse holed up in their
stables...ahh, garages, the Lamb brothers of Moran, Kansas drove their Suzuki powered sportsman midgets to the top two positions in the first ever Ozark Mountain Midget Series
(OMMS) race.
OK, they weren't really outlaws, but the Kansas brothers who usually drive their Dan Dan the Sonic Man sponsored cars with the MOLS series used their wingless experience to show the otherwise nearly all rookie field how to throw an open wheel race car around the Dallas County Speedway in Urbana, MO. "Our guys haven't had much of a chance to practice, let alone race, with all the rain we've been having" said Dustin
Arnall, OMMS President.
Niel Gamble started the feature from the pole but Merril Lamb jumped to the lead in the first turn. Barry Lamb picked up 2nd spot quickly and stalked his brother for the first 7 laps. A good run into turn one allowed Barry to complete the pass for the lead after 2 laps of side by side action. Merril went right back to work on big brother but ran out of time to reclaim the spot.
The series had planned to open the season with a practice day and race in May, and a points race three weeks ago, but all of those events were rained out. The series returns to Dallas County on July 7th, then hosts the Illini Racing Series for two races on July 20th at Lebanon Midway Speedway and on July 21st back at Dallas County.
